Graf Zeppelin - Germanys only Carrier during World War II

No 3000401 GrafZepplin

2015-06-18

Very rare photo of Graf Zeppelin in Stettin 1941

Graf Zeppelin was launched in Dec 1938 but was never completed and never operational for several reasons. Lack of technology (shifting constructions)
Graf Zeppelin was planned for 42 fighters (ME109, JU87) and she has a steel armor in the waterline of 100 mm.
Total weight of the carrier should been around 33.000 ton (similair to Scharnhorst/Gneisenau) Her Engines has about 200.000 horse Power and she reached the speed of 33,8 kn.

An impressive ship with strange history
